  6.     To all you complainers about Amiga wildcards:  Is "#?" too hard to
  7. type?  Does "*" have too many conflicting meanings?  Do you secretly yearn
  8. for "*.*" but fear that your friends will hate you?  (Well... I can't help
  9. you with that last one. :-))
  10.  
  11.     The solution is here!  I have written an input handler called
  12. STAR-NAPALM that makes wildcard typing easier than anything you have EVER
  13. seen before.
  14.  
  15.     What does it do?  It maps the empty string as the AmigaDOS wildcard
  16. character!  So, whenever you need a wildcard, you don't have to type
  17. ANYTHING AT ALL!  What could be simpler?!?

  19.     I've taken star-naplam.handler, as supplied with BLAZEMONGER MXVIX
  20. (betcha didn't know we used the OS, did you?), and placed it into the Public
  21. Domain.  You can find it on finer ftp sites everywhere.  Just give the empty
  22. string as your login name and password, and the handler will be automatically
  23. downloaded to your Amiga, installed in your L: directory (its filename will
  24. be an empty string, of course), appended to your startup-sequence, and then
  25. run!  The ultimate in convenience.

  27.     As a test to make sure it is working, try the following CLI command:

  29.         1>  dir
  30.  
  31. As the invisible wildcard expands, it will match every file in the current
  32. directory.
  33.  
  34.     Now, some of you whiners may complain that star-napalm is dangerous.
  35. Well, we built in a special SAFETY FEATURE to prevent unwanted expansions.
  36. If you ever accidentally type just the wildcard by itself:

  40. then star-napalm automatically ignores the command.
